The Mimosa team provide access to a network of highly accredited (ACSEP) Sport and Exercise Doctors with specialist training in the management of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries and illnesses.

 

These doctors are skilled to maximise function and minimise time away from work.

Sydney

Dr Tulloh has over 20 years experience in Sport and Exercise Medicine. Louise has a clinical interest in chronic pain, back pain and anterior knee pain. Louise uses takes a holistic approach in the care of patients.

Samantha Pomroy
Sydney

Dr Pomroy is a fellow of the Australasian college of Sports and Exercise Medicine Physicians. She has a particular interest in exercise as the main focus of rehabilitation in musculoskeletal issues. She takes a holistic view of the patient, aims to engage the patient through all aspects of their care; and brings knowledge from the elite athlete model of care to all those interested in maximising their health outcomes.

Dr Bolzonello is a Sport & Exercise Medicine Physician who has been part of the Alphington Sports Medicine team since 1991 and boasts over 30 years clinical experience. He has been a Medical Advisor with Worksafe Victoria for 20 years and provided advice to Coles and Wesfarmers also as a medical advisor.

Dr Bolzonello has a special interest in groin/hip, knee, shoulder and spinal disorders and adolescent health. He also has a strong interest in work place injuries and assisting in the development of return to work programs for injured workers.

Dr Lee is a Sport and Exercise medicine Physician based out of Newcastle in NSW. He is the current chief medical officer to the Newcastle Knights and is a medical provider to the NSW Institute of Sport.

Dr Lee’s background working in the elite sporting environment provides him with a unique skillset in accurately diagnosing and managing musculo-skeletal injuries. He appreciates the balance between a timely return to work and ensuring patients are able to return in a safe manner. In facilitating a timely and safe return to work, Dr Lee utilises a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve optimal health outcomes for his patients.

Duncan Walker
Adelaide

Dr Walker is currently working as the team doctor for the Adelaide Crows (men's and women's teams), Adelaide 36'ers, Adelaide Lightning, and Adelaide Thunderbirds. He has a special interest in using exercise prescription as a preventative approach to many of the current epidemics such as osteoarthritis and diabetes, as well as use in the management of acute injuries.

Dr Grellman’s interest in sports medicine started when her medical studies collided with her water polo and hockey games. Katherine was the team doctor for the Lakes United Rugby League in Newcastle, managing on field and post-match care, including concussions. Her interests include musculoskeletal injuries and female athlete health.

Following a broad medical background Dr de Silva settled on a career in sports medicine after seeing the positive experience a sports physician can have on an individual’s pain, functionality and overall wellbeing. Viran has been involved in a variety of team sports including NT Thunder and NT ThunderW AFL Teams and most recently as team doctor for the Australian Paralympic Swimming team in Tokyo2020.

Rachel Harris
Perth

Dr Harris is well regarded for her extensive involvement across many elite sports, most notably the Chief Medical Officer for the Australian Paralympic and Water Polo teams for the Tokyo Games.

Dr Harris is passionate about patient-centred care and works with patients in the non-surgical management of injuries, exercise prescription, and management of medical conditions that impact a person’s ability to exercise. Collaboration with the patient’s GP, other Specialists and allied health providers, is key to Dr Harris’ approach to providing patients with the best possible care.

Dr Hislop is the Practice Principal at Brisbane Sport and Exercise Medicine Specialists (BSEMS), a Consultant Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician for the past 17 years.

Melbourne

Dr Cardoso has toured with the Young Matildas, the Opals, the Pararoos and the Joeys. She previously served the Opals (Australian Women's Basketball team) as the Team Doctor and was the Collingwood AFLW Team Doctor for the 2018 season.

​

Her research areas include MTSS, iron supplementation, tendinopathy and AFL injuries.

Canberra

Dr Bisley completed her medical degree in 1992 (University of Otago) and progressed to receive a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as GP training before specialising in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Karen’s diverse experience and depth of knowledge allows her to craft the most effective management plan for each case.

 

Karen is currently involved with the Canberra marathon, Canberra United Football Club and match day doctor for the Brumbies.
